Teresa Pilegaard, Executive Director and Instructor

Founder, executive director, and head instructor, Teresa is passionate about inclusion for all and, of course, horses! She cares deeply about the physical, mental, and emotional independence horses stimulate and desires to provide expanded access to equines. Teresa has been around horses for most of her life, but found her true passion in adaptive riding thanks to her son's physical needs. Teresa is finishing her mentored teaching hours through PATH International's Instructor-in-Training program and is excited to continue her journey with our students! When not working for North Star, Teresa can be found at home with her family and sheep, as well as working with her 17 year old OTTB from Days End Farm Horse Rescue and her 6 year old Warmblood, Winterwood (aka "Loki, the God of Mischief"). Teresa's therapeutic riding mentor is Saebra Pippoly of Hooffalls and Footfalls and regularly continues her riding education with local trainers. Teresa is passionate about classical dressage for the well-being of the horse.
